Pe[x] Pipe Example

MLfP PRINCIPLES

The MLfP system is based on a 5 layer composite pipe which brings the advantages of both metal & plastic pipes whilst overcoming the shortcomings of both materials.

The aluminium core forms the barrier to prevent the passage of oxygen and its thickness is optimised to produce the excellent mechanical properties of the pipe.

The manufacturing process is a single step co-extrusion of the ultrasonic overlap-welded aluminium core along with the bonding adhesive and both inner and outer layers of PEX (cross linked polyethylene).

The preferred method for joining MLfP is with press fittings which provide a quick, safe and reliable connection with a double O-ring seal. An alternative compression fitting range is available.

Service conditions for MLfP- BS7291:2000 Class S
Permissible ambient temperature range -10°C to +40°C
